Feel the fur and smell the gum leaves!
Many of the koalas I use in paintings are referenced from the Rockhampton Zoo. I usually take photos and then create my own scenes/stories.
A typical Australian outback scene; when there actually is water in the often dry waterways. I do love to paint our native animals. The reference kangaroo was from Australia Zoo and I put it into a scene of watering kangaroos that I once saw somewhere between Emerald and Barcaldine.
